Is the color variation of bamboo board normal?

The answer is yes. As bamboo is a natural product, like almost every wood species, which can vary in color, grain and appearance. Slight color variations add authenticity and character to the floor. If it is all exactly the same color throughout, your floor would not look real or natural. So don't worry when you find the bamboo board surface color is not equality and have a little color difference.

What are the reasons that cause the color difference?

The color variation is decided by the raw material. For same bamboo species, different growing environment, different growth age, even different parts of the same bamboo, will result in different color. 

Bamboo grows in the mountain forest, a mountain forest has a sunny side and a shady side. The bamboo on the sunny side will turn more yellow, since it absorbs more sunshine. And on the contrary on the shady side, the illumination time is shorter, so it turns more green on the surface. Further, different altitude, different distribution density, different soil and different growth age will also create different color. Even for the same bamboo, the color of the bottom part and root part is different as well, due to different illumination time and area. So in summary, the color variation of bamboo is inevitable. 

Will the color variation affect the quality?

Being a natural material, each bamboo piece is unique, and any variations in color or etching does not affect the performance of the product. The product quality is mainly decided by the raw material quality, the density and the production technique.
